[Stella wasn't feeling particularly comfortable. That in itself was a fairly-normal occurrence for her, but this time around, she was feeling damn near terrified.

The red-haired girl was watching her like a gods-damned hawk, almost as if expecting her to do something, and though the thought did little for her nerves, she did consider herself fortunate that she wasn't immediately struck down—that girl certainly looked capable of doing so if she really wanted to. It hadn't been one of her brightest moments, deciding that she was at least comfortable enough to let her nature slip like that; she'd gone and forgotten that humans didn't particularly like her kind.

Rightfully so, in most cases. And this one especially, it seemed.

So, the Galaxy Mage mostly just sat quietly at the base of the shrine, not willing to stand—much less make any other moves—for fear that the other girl would act, if she wasn't already planning to.]

[Elesis was busying herself with pacing aggressively next to the demon, shooting her a sharp glare every now and then. Babysitting a demon was never part of her plan. Honestly, she was starting to wonder why she didn't just strike this one down, especially when she approached the knight so carelessly. Foolish. Demons who didn't know to fear her shouldn't be spared so easily.

But she had another motive. The demons in Feita were acting up again, and it was up to her (and her alone) to make sure they were finally wiped out this time. If she could locate the gate of darkness, stemming the flow of evil would be easy enough.

The Avenger stopped abruptly, turning on her heel to stare down at the silver-haired demon girl. Beneath her hollow expression burned a deep, blazing anger.]

Show me where the others are, and I will consider letting you live.

[Only now that she was spoken to did she bother speaking again.]

I-I don't know where they are. I'd gotten— I was separated from them and had been wandering out here for hours when I found you. [She'd tried asking where she was, introduced herself by name (Stella Argyris) and by class ("Galaxy Mage"), and then she'd gone and made her mistake. That mistake and her response together meant that she probably wasn't walking away from this, a fact that she was now fully realizing.

She tilted her head forward to stare back down at the ground between her legs while she sat there.]

You probably don't believe me. You don't have any reason to. No-nobody does. [She closed her eyes and started hoping that it would be over quickly.] Whatever you're going to do now, I—I won't stop you.

[She stares coldly for a long, long moment.

...Or maybe that's just her normal expression? It's, uh, kind of hard to tell. But eventually she breaks the silence with a sigh.]

No backbone. [If this is what the demons sent for her to deal with, she's really not impressed.]

If you don't know, then you're staying with me until you remember, we find them, or I get sick of you. [with the implication that that last option doesn't mean letting her go without a scratch, of course.] Don't get in my way. Understand?

[Even if she says she doesn't know, surely it's only a matter of time before she tries to flee and leads Elesis straight to their gateway. She's really not expecting this demon to willingly betray her comrades anyway. Because they are obviously her comrades, her being a demon and all. Everyone knows all demons serve in the same vague and generically evil army!]

[Stella hadn't even actually done anything to prove she was what she said she was, which in this particular situation probably said more about Elesis's hatred of demons than it did about Stella herself. The only visible clue had been her ears, pointed like an elf's but only half as long.

But when she amazingly isn't struck down (again), her eyes snap open and she gives the Avenger a somewhat confused look.]
I— ...o-okay. [No backbone whatsoever. She already knew that; most of the other students back at the academy gave her all kinds of hell for not being very demon-like outside of constantly skipping classes to do nerd things.

With her having gotten horribly lost before stumbling upon the other girl, it wasn't like either of the first two options would be happening, either. The second was at least a slim possibility, but the first? She couldn't remember the path she had followed that led her here in the first place.]

DOING THE THING as a continuation of that ancient testrun thread

ooc: continued from: here
[If there was anything that could be said about cyborg dinosaurs, it was that they were aggressive to the point of being a complete pain in the ass.

The raptors that had made up the initial part of the attack were down for the most part, their cybernetics having been shorted out by a focused Razonde, but the tyrannosaurus before Mirys now had been shrugging off damn near anything she and her newfound ally could throw at it. Bullets weren't fazing it, bursts of electricity weren't having much visible effect on its weaponry, it was possible and in fact very likely that the duo had gotten in over their heads with this; that thing was steadily approaching, with their continued assault doing very little to slow it down.

Then its turrets once again opened fire, this time not aiming for Mirys, but instead the person there with her, and with the barrier they had been using having just been taken down, there was nothing there to stop the shots this time. Lacking anything she could use for a shield herself, Mirys chose to intercept the shots by a more-unusual means: the Gimegid technique. The black hole generated by the technique sucked the dinosaur's bullets in and when it dissipated, they dropped harmlessly to the floor. Following that, she continued with her attempts to disable the creature's weapons.]

I think you're gonna need a bigger gun, Eve!
